Menara Taming Sari which was opened on 18th April 2008 has become another unique attraction for Melaka. The tower is located in Jalan Melaka, Banda Hilir, one of the popular destinations for tourists. The vision to built Menara Taming Sari was inspired by Chief Minister of Melaka, Datuk Seri Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam. The 110 meter viewing tower was designed based on the legendary Taming Sari Keris, used by the Malay legendary warrior Hang Tuah.

Menara Taming Sari was the First Revolving “Gyro Tower” in

Malaysia

and this title is endorsed by Malaysia Book of Records. Menara Taming Sari started construction in August 2006. The original site for Menara Taming Sari is at the Melaka River Banks but due the recovery of the ancient artifact, the site was moved to Majlis Bandaraya Melaka Bersejarah tennis court. The tower was built using Swiss technology & the only tower in the country to have a fully revolving structure. The air-conditioned viewing cabin will be able to accommodate 66 people at one time.

The tower offers you a spectacular and panaromic view of Historical Malacca City and a far with a host of interesting sights such as St Paul’s Hill, Independence Memorial Building, Samudera Museum and the ship, Flor De La Mar, Malacca River, Dataran Pahlawan, Pulau Selat Mosque, Pulau Besar and the Straits of Malacca. Menara Taming Sari is managed by Melaka Taming Sari Bhd., subsidiary of Kumpulan Melaka Berhad which wholly owned by Melaka State government. The management of Menara Taming Sari will be organizing many interesting event throughout the year i.e. traditional shows and music to attract more visitors. Besides events, there is also interesting packages for Family, School Children, kids, disable & senior citizen.
